The S-2 scenario<\/strong><\/h1>\n

<\/p>\n

Obligation for all non-captive aircraft:<\/u><\/strong>
\n– Altitude information based on a barometric sensor
\n– Maximum flight height can be programmed
\n– Ability to shut down engines in flight – the engine shutdown function must be independent of the flight controller\/autopilot.
\n– Fail-safe function in the event of loss of control link
\n– Cartographic information on aircraft position and movement
\n– Lateral limits can be programmed so that crossing them is prohibited or triggers an alarm
\n– Recording of essential parameters for the last 20 minutes of flight<\/p>\n

Maximum authorized weight according to operational scenarios :<\/u><\/strong>
\nUnless specifically authorized, only aircraft whose weight does not exceed the following limits, depending on the scenario, may be used:<\/p>\n

Scenario S-2 :
\n– Below 50m in height: no particular restrictions (*)
\n– Above 50m: only aircraft weighing 2 kg or less<\/p>\n

(*)Aircraft over 25 kg Aircraft over 25 kg are subject to additional technical design conditions, defined on a case-by-case basis. The DSAC should be contacted in advance of any project involving such an aircraft.<\/p>\n

\n

Scenario STS-02 – European legislation<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Under European legislation, a C6-class<\/strong> UAV is required to carry out missions in STS-02 flight scenarios (flight out of sight, outside populated areas).<\/p>\n

Here we are talking abouta BVLOS flight = Out of sight<\/strong><\/p>\n

In class C6, the aircraft must :<\/p>\n

– be CE marked “C6”,
\n– have a level flight speed limited to 50m\/s,
\n– be equipped with a geo-vigilance system,
\n– be able to indicate its geographical position, speed and height,
\n– be equipped with a system to limit the crossing of horizontal and vertical limits,
\n– be equipped with a motor shutdown system,
\n– provide a means of controlling its trajectory,
